Today we have a full, final page, coloured and lettered to show you.
If you follow Andi on twitter - @butwin - you might have noticed how every fifth tweet is to @SouthernRailUK. This organisation is Andi’s nemesis - they collude to make his train journey to and from work a living hell. In our latest Overrun art posted above we can see how we are making art imitate life. Sort of.
A Spam file has been rumbled by the guard on the train into town but rather than face the inevitable he prefers to jump to his oblivion. Fortunately Andi manages to vent his despair by chucking a few well chosen and suitably censored expletives on twitter so I don’t think we’ll have any delays on the line anytime soon.
In panel 3 above we can see our hero Cooper in the background watching keenly as events unfold - he uses the chaos to take his leave, we see his empty seat in the final panel. Where has he gone? We find out on the next page.
This is page 5 from the final book. Progress has been going well and bar one DPS spread we now have completed thumbnails for the entire 114 pages. Paul, Andi and I are super happy with how they all look - there are going to be some outstanding pages when we are all done.
In a few weeks Andi and I will spend a day reviewing the script now that the thumbs are done. Andi has mocked up the lettering for every page and although we have reviewed the script countless times before we sometimes find that the dialogue can work differently on art than it does as part of a full script with scene descriptions. So, we check and check again as part of the process to make this book as good as it can be.
Hoping everyone reading this is well and see you soon.
All the best,
Matt Woodley
