The city is at a breaking point. Living space is running out. Those in power are forced to execute a desperate measure - introduce a poison to wipe out a huge part of the population.
This is no ordinary city, however. Overrun takes the reader into the heart of their own computer. Citizens are files. There are .xls business people, sexy spams and hip musician .mp4s. The space which is running out is memory - the poison a computer virus.
Political intrigue and epic action scenes take place inside this lovingly crafted world as we follow a group of friends, forgotten computer game heroes, as they fight their way through the virus infection which is transforming their fellow citizens into memory sucking zombies.
Wearing zippered tops and compressed to maximum capacity. Watch out, these guys pack more of a punch than they let on.
Music files dress in the style of the tunes they are listening to. Everyone from Rockabillies and Punks to Mods and Goths can be found wandering through the city.
With checkered shirts and pens in their top pockets, these account-heavy files are easy to spot. Just don’t ask to look at their figures!
You can tell a lot by the shirt someone wears.
In the case of a jpeg, you can tell what they are by what they wear. Each jpeg has printed on their shirt a picture of the image they represent.
Every city has its bad eggs. In this world Spam Files are the perpetrators. Most are caught and quarantined by the Spam Filters that patrol the city, but some, unfortunately, get through.
Carrying a briefcase or backpack, chances are they are documents - citizens living among the common file types in the city.
File types are easy prey to virus corruption... and it’s becoming an epidemic. It takes just one byte and the next unfortunate victim’s fate is sealed.
